What Lofi Server Room is
Lofi Server Room is a calm management game about a small, fictional data center at night. You fill a room with server racks, bring them online, and they earn credits every second while rain runs down the window. Nothing can end the game. Heat and faults slow your income, and the fun is in keeping the room humming.
Controls
Everything is a tap. Tap an empty floor spot to select it, then tap BUILD RACK in the bar that appears at the bottom. Tap a rack to see its next steps, and tap the same spot again to deselect. The objective pill at the top of the screen always shows your next milestone.
From empty floor to income
- Build a rack for 120 credits. Each rack has six slots.
- Install one or more units in the slots.
- Tap ROUTE CABLE, for 30 credits, to connect the rack to the core.
- Tap POWER ON. Only now does the rack start to earn.
Prices and output
| Item | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| PULSE unit | 60 | 1.2 credits per second. Runs the hottest. |
| RELAY unit | 70 | 1.0 credits per second. Medium heat. |
| VAULT unit | 50 | 0.8 credits per second. Runs the coolest. |
| Rack | 120 | Six unit slots. |
| Cable | 30 | Needed once per rack before power on. |
| Cooling | 90 | Cools one zone, which is a pair of neighboring racks. |
| Robot | 250 | Repairs faults for you. One at facility level 2, two from level 3. |
You start with 200 credits and a small standby income of 2 credits per second, so the room is never completely stuck.
Facility levels
The facility level rises with lifetime earnings, so spending never lowers it. Level 1 gives you four rack spots in the front row. Level 2, at 400 credits earned, adds two more front spots and allows the first robot. Level 3, at 1,200, opens the back row of four spots and allows a second robot. Level 4 arrives at 3,000. A full room is ten racks.
Heat and faults
Every active unit warms its rack. Past the warning heat a rack earns 75 percent of its normal output, and a very hot rack earns only 40 percent. Buying COOLING for a zone brings its racks back down.
Faults appear now and then, more often on hot racks. A unit with a drive fault earns nothing until it is repaired, and a dusty filter makes its rack run hotter. Tap the rack and press REPAIR, or let a robot do it.
The four objectives
- Bring three racks online.
- Reach a total output of 18 credits per second.
- Keep every online rack below the warning heat for five minutes in a row.
- Have robots complete five repairs.
Settings and the watch mode
The settings sheet has switches for sound, haptics and reduced motion, a button to reset the facility, and a cinematic launcher that hides the interface and lets the room run by itself. Triple-tap to leave it. Progress saves automatically on your device.
Tips
- Finish one rack before starting the next. A rack with units but no cable or power earns nothing.
- PULSE pays back fastest, 60 credits for 1.2 per second, but it is also the hottest. Mix in VAULT units when a zone starts to warm up.
- Cooling covers two racks at once, so fill both racks of a zone before you pay for it.
- Watch for the heat warning. A full rack at 40 percent output earns less than a half-full rack running cool.
- Buy the robot as soon as level 2 allows. It also counts toward the repair objective, which manual repairs do not.
- The cool-streak objective restarts whenever any online rack overheats, so cool every zone before you go for it.
Questions and answers
Why is my rack not earning?
It needs at least one installed unit, a routed cable and power. All three steps must be done.
Can the room fail or shut down?
No. Heat and faults reduce income and nothing else.
How many robots can I have?
One from facility level 2 and two from level 3.
Is any of this a real data center procedure?
No. The room, its units and its names are deliberately fictional.
