What Merge Heroes Idle is

Merge Heroes Idle is two games stacked on one screen. On the top lane your squad fights endless enemy waves without any help from you. On the bottom, a board of twelve slots, four across and three down, is where you actually play: buy heroes, drag matching ones together and build a stronger bench.

Merging is the whole power curve. Every merge produces a hero one tier higher that deals double the damage per shot, so two Squires become one Soldier that hits as hard as both of them and frees a slot.

How to play

  • Drag a hero onto another hero of the same tier to merge them. Drag onto an empty slot to move, or onto a different tier to swap places.
  • Tap BUY HERO to put a new hero in the first empty slot. The first one costs 15 gold and each purchase after that costs 25 percent more.
  • Tap INCOME to raise your passive gold. You start at 1 gold per second and each level adds 0.75. The first upgrade costs 25 gold and the price rises 55 percent per level.
  • Watch the lane. If an enemy crosses the gold defense line the wave stalls and starts again. You never lose heroes or gold.

Tiers and classes

There are ten tiers: Squire, Soldier, Knight, Captain, Champion, Warlord, Hero, Legend, Mythic and Godslayer. As your best tier rises, the heroes you buy catch up. A purchase arrives three tiers below the best you have ever built, never lower than Squire and never higher than Warlord.

Every bought hero rolls a class. Warriors hit 40 percent harder but fire 40 percent slower, and Rangers do the reverse, so both deal the same damage over time. Classes mix freely in a merge, and the hero you drag decides the class of the result.

Waves, bosses and special waves

Regular waves send between five and fourteen enemies, and enemy health grows 17 percent with every wave. Every fifth wave is a boss: a single enemy with ten times the health that moves slower and pays twelve times the gold. Waves 3, 8, 13 and so on carry a modifier announced by a banner, alternating between ARMORED (tougher enemies with a richer bounty) and SWARM (twice as many fragile enemies arriving fast).

Offline gold and prestige

Close the app and your income keeps counting at half rate for up to four hours. The gold is granted when you open the game screen again.

Clear wave 50 and a PRESTIGE button appears. Prestige sends you back to wave 1 with two Squires and 30 gold, and resets the income level and the hero price. In return every source of gold pays 10 percent more, permanently, and the bonus stacks each time you prestige. Your best wave and your settings survive.

Tips

  1. Merge before you buy. A full board refuses purchases, and a merge both frees a slot and doubles a hero.
  2. Buy heroes in pairs. A single leftover hero sits unmerged until its twin arrives, and every purchase raises the price of the next.
  3. Upgrade INCOME early. The first few levels are cheap, and they also raise what you earn while the app is closed.
  4. Do not chase a class. Warriors and Rangers deal the same damage over time, so merge whichever pair is available.
  5. When a wave stalls you are usually one tier short. Let income build up, buy, merge, and the same wave falls.
  6. Check in before four hours have passed. Offline gold stops growing at the cap.
  7. Armored waves pay 60 percent more gold per enemy, so the moment after clearing one is a good time to buy.

Questions and answers

Can I lose heroes or gold?

No. A failed wave simply retries, and nothing on the board is taken away.

What is the highest tier?

Tier ten, the Godslayer. Two Godslayers cannot be merged any further.

How much gold do I earn while away?

Half of your income rate, for at most four hours, multiplied by any prestige bonus you hold.

What does a prestige keep?

Your best wave, your settings and the permanent gold bonus. The board, gold, income level and current wave start over.
